​Why the Chamber has an Application Process.
It is important to take the time to find volunteers with the right values, skills, attitude, and commitment. Even though this is a volunteer job, matching you to the correct position is a crucial to both our and your success.

The Chamber offers booth virtual and in-person volunteer opportunities.

We host monthly and one-day events and programs throughout the year where volunteers are always needed.  These events include fundraisers, membership meetings, community events to support the Chamber's mission. Each activity needs a Volunteer Team to plan and execute the event. We need Day-of-Event Volunteers for every activity. Volunteering is a great way to contribute back to your local community, meet new people and brush up on skills.

We typical need 20-35 volunteers for every event! 

​Here are some typical duties

  • Greaters 
  • Information booth 
  • ​Pre-show set up (table, chairs, tents) 
  • Decor and staging (balloons, banners, etc.)
  • Parking lot attendants 
  • Coffee station servers
  • Survey takers
  • Photographers 
  • AV set up
  • Info. booth
  • First aid
  • Flyer distribution ( 3 weeks before event, to local businesses) 
  • Post-event clean-up
  • Security 
  • Floaters 


VOLUNTEER PLEDGE 


  • I agree to turn up to my rostered shifts on time, and to advise the Chamber staff well in advance if my availability for rostered shifts changes. 
  • I agree to work under the guidance and supervision of Chamber staff.
  • I agree to turn up to my first rostered shift 10 minutes before the scheduled staff so as to be informed of the particulars of the role and the venue.
  • I will not turn up to a rostered shift under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
  • ​As a volunteer I will not solicit any guest for my personal business/gain , and protect the confidentially of any infomation that is collected from participants. 
  • I agree to advise the Chamber staff if I am unable or uncomfortable completing tasks that have been assigned to. We will be understanding of these requests, just give us as much notice as possible.
  • I agree to inform Chamber staff immediately of any injuries sustained while undertaking volunteering activities.
  • As a member of the volunteer team, I will do my best to provide correct information and a positive attitude to all members of the public I deal with throughout the event.
  • I agree to work in a constructive and cooperative way with Chamber staff and comply with any safety procedures as requested.
  • I understand that I am volunteering my services and will not receive any remuneration for my services.


A Chamber Without Walls 
Virtual Volunteering 


You can commit your time and services away from the physical site of the Chamber. 

​Virtual volunteers work over the internet via computer, tablet, or phone to provide their skilled services to support our cause. 

About our Positions:

  • Flexible hours, most of the work can be done remotely (PC/Internet Required) 
  • Typically require a minimum 6 month commitment
  • Require 4-6 hours per month 
  • Non-paid

Leadership Volunteer Pledge


FOR COMMITTEE MEMBER APPLICANTS ONLY


As a nonprofit agency, we could not survive without the dedication of our volunteers and their tireless efforts. It is important to be very organized and to outline some general responsibilities of Chamber volunteers. 

Committee Member's Pledge:



  • I am fully committed and dedicated to the mission, purpose, and goals of the Chamber.
  • As a volunteer, I understand I will serve without compensation.
  • I can commit to fulfilling my obligations with my time, talent, treasure, and relationships.
  • I will avoid conflicts of interest between my position on a committee and my personal life or business. If such conflict does arise, I will declare that conflict to the Chamber staff.
  • I promise to make decisions that are always in the best interest of the Chamber.
  • I will attend regularly scheduled meetings, be available for consultation by phone and e-mail
  • If I miss more than 3 consecutive committee meetings without proper notice or am otherwise unable to fulfill my obligations, I will offer my resignation or request a leave of absence. 
  • I know that I am a de facto ambassador for the organization. I will never offer myself as an official spokesperson for the organization without proper authority from the Chamber CEO.
  • I will work with Chamber staff to come up with a plan that is reasonable for my personal situation, and I will leverage my relationships to secure additional resources if required.
  • I recognize the significant obligations of the staff in carrying out the work of the Chamber, and I will do my best not to interfere with the staff’s operating and oversight responsibilities. While I have the right to speak with staff members about matters of mutual interest, I understand that I do not have the right to direct the actions of staff members.
  • I understand that the Chamber CEO/Executive Director is responsible for developing plans and oversight of all events and managing the organization’s resources to meet those objectives.

We need Day-of-Event Volunteers for every activity. Volunteering is a great way to contribute back to your local community, meet new people and brush up on skills.

Volunteers Make Our Community Better


​Overview of our Volunteer Program

  • Day-Of-Event Volunteer's commitments vary per activity. On average, volunteer, shifts are 3 hours long for weekday events, and six hours for weekend events.
  • Virtual Volunteers generally volunteer 3-5 hours per month.
  • Committee Members typically attend 6-7 meetings, attend the event, and volunteer on average 4 hours per month. 
  • Groups: CTE students, DECA, and other groups are always welcomed! 
  • Internships and Specialized Volunteer Positions
  • We do not accept court-ordered community service.​
  • All volunteers must be at least 16 years of age unless supervised by an adult. All volunteer roles have an age requirement and ages to volunteer in roles may vary.
