​Raoul Sada

PRESIDENT & CEO


Raoul Sada has been the President & CEO of the Chamber of Commerce since July 2014. As the CEO he plans, organizes, and directs the Chamber’s operations, services, products, business retention efforts, and public policy activities.

He is responsible for developing and maintaining a collaborative working relationship between the Chamber of Commerce, and other key business & public policy organizations, other chambers, and other regional/national organizations to foster a pro-business environment. 

He oversees all staff, day-to-day operations of the Chamber and reports directly to the Board of Directors. Raoul works with the Board of Directors to develop and implement long-range goals and strategy. 

​Mary Orta

​VICE-PRESIDENT OF OPERATIONS & MARKETING


Mary Orta, has been the Vice President of Marketing and Operation since 2010. In this role, Mary focuses on driving revenue and market share growth for the Chamber by leading sales channel transformation and evolving the company’s customer acquisition, retention, segmentation, brand and competitive strategies. 

This frontline position is part of the senior leadership team at the Chamber and is responsible for membership sales, retention and overall member experience of the Chamber and reports directly to the President and CEO of the Chamber. 

​Operationally she helps to plan, direct and coordinate operations in support of a Chamber's growth. Typical duties also include advising and assisting the CEO in the execution of the Chambers strategic plans, revenue growth, and managing daily operations of personnel, program delivery and other functions.

 The Chamber is a business-led, economic advancement entity whose mission is to champion economic prosperity, foster a pro-business climate, and to improve the quality of life in our region. This devoted team of volunteer Directors personify dedication to community, the mission of the Chamber, and a commitment to making our region a great place where business can prosper and families can live, work, play and shop. These individuals come from companies large and small and represent businesses in many different sectors of American commerce. Together this team helps to set the direction for this Chamber of Commerce, and together we can accomplish much.

Board Member Roles and Responsibilities


What are the responsibilities of individual board members?

  • Attend all board meetings and other important functions. 
  • Be informed about the organization’s mission, services, policies, and programs. 
  • Review agenda and supporting materials prior to board and committee meetings. 
  • Serve on committees and task forces or offer to take on special assignments. 
  • Make a financial contribution to the organization (become a member/sponsor of the Chamber). 
  • Inform others about the organization.
  • Suggest possible nominees to the board who can make significant contributions to the work of the board and the organization. 
  • Keep up to date on developments in the organization’s scope of work. 
  • Follow conflict-of-interest and confidentiality policies. 
  • Provide guidance and strategic direction: Refrain from making special requests of the staff and do not get involved in the oversight of day-to-day work. 


What are the basic responsibilities of nonprofit boards?

  • Determine mission and purpose. It is the board’s responsibility to create and review a statement of mission and purpose that articulates the organization’s goals, means, and primary constituents served. 
  • Select the chief executive. The board must reach a consensus on the chief executive’s responsibilities and undertake a careful search to find the most qualified individual for the position. 
  • Support and evaluate the chief executive. The board should ensure that the chief executive has the moral and professional support he or she needs to further the goals of the organization. 
  • Ensure effective planning. Boards must actively participate in an overall planning process and assist in implementing and monitoring the plan’s goals. 
  • Monitor and strengthen programs and services. The board’s responsibility is to determine which programs are consistent with the organization’s mission and monitor their effectiveness.
  • Ensure adequate financial resources. One of the board’s foremost responsibilities is to secure adequate resources for the organization to fulfill its mission. 
  • Protect assets and provide proper financial oversight. The board must assist in developing the annual budget and ensuring that proper financial controls are in place. 
  • Build a competent board. All boards have a responsibility to articulate prerequisites for candidates, orient new members, and periodically and comprehensively evaluate their own performance. 
  • Ensure legal and ethical integrity. The board is ultimately responsible for adherence to legal standards and ethical norms. 
  • Enhance the organization’s public standing. The board should clearly articulate the organization’s mission, accomplishments, and goals to the public and garner support from the community.
